About Colleague’s

When I started to think about the next content for my blog, I thought it is time for me to write about the people with whom I have associated in my short journey…

I am writing this in a belief that I understood them after leaving them.

Mr. S.Sivasankaran

Happy Birthday to you

IPD Siva, really a nice person to work with and one of the person with whom I have a long friendship even after leaving the organization, almost for more than 10 years. Of course I was not reporting to him, maybe that’s the reason today I am writing about him. He was the overall administrative officer of that small office with less than 20 people. When I think about him, automatically I feel his soft, gentle, caring and kind approach with the co-staff’s. Best Attitude which I noticed in him and which I want to learn from him. Siva, Still I am unable to do it.  Not even 10% of it is achieved in the last 10 years. (Am still the same as I was 10 years back). That’s the only place where I felt that we had chit chat without thinking anything about the superiors.  I worked with him nearly 11 months and I have seen him always with a soft smile.

Keep a Cordial Relationship with your Colleagues

I have to accept that I normally don’t have cordial relationship, a kind of quarreling nature to achieve or to complete my task as long as I work with them and it blossoms as a good and strong friendship once I leave the organization. I noticed only in my previous employment and I felt that I started feeling the closeness with my colleagues only when I resigned from the organization.

Now in my new Assignment, I do maintain closeness and feeling to make them feel comfortable with me and I do have the feeling.  Still I can’t say that I changed my attitude because we are birds of same feather and we have to work together to achieve our success.

Only Time can say whether I changed my attitude or not.

Mr. Bhavani Prasad  (B.P.)

A good and talented professional to work with, who has got good experience and strong accounting knowledge,. He is not only a talented professional but also a good competitor to me and I really felt him as a competitor but definitely not as a threat to me. We were like the crouching tiger and hidden dragon.  Again he is a very soft person whereas I am totally opposite to him. He will be doing his work patiently and I prefer to do it immediately and close the issue as soon as possible.  I know whenever we were in the meeting his BP would have increased because of me.

When we start prioritizing the work, we feel it is less difficult to finish. But I always feel that prioritizing makes us to feel that we are likely to procrastinate, which is not a good sign for a professional. Anyway I changed my way of approach.

To Prioritize All Your Work

Mostly we prioritize the work based on the due date, weight of the project, Length, Ease, passion and other criteria’s if any applicable. For me doing the work is passion and I work so furiously.  Especially the Zeal to complete the task will be too high and I will strain more.

Prioritizing the work is an important point to be successful in your career life and to prove you as an asset of an organization.

Once we start prioritizing, we will feel that it is ease to finish the task.

Be it a serious issue or a small issue, BP will take his own time to look at and update. One of the good qualities of a good professional who values his work. As a professional I learnt it from him after leaving the organization. I hope he will be happy to know that I learned something from him and he will be very happy to read the same details in my blog. By the by this is not to make yourself happy but it is the truth. I really admire your sincerity and dedication.

Now I am following your footsteps BP

Syeda Asma

I was reporting to her during her tenure with my present employer.

I like her very much because of her dynamic role. It was really a tough and delicate role by a female especially in the middle-east countries where people from different countries working together. She has got totally opposite character when compared to the above gentlemen.

She is not rude but she is strong. She is not terror but terrific. I found the good thing in her is she is a good manager as well as a good leader.

I think she would have handled at least 50 consultants and 10 projects at a time.

Personally she is very soft person, but officially very terror. Also she has got the ability to hear the grievance as well as to support and help them

Use the power

When I say the word power it will give the negative impressions. Referring the use of power can assume that people are being dominated, influence or threaten or control.  Power exists in all the organizations.  Here I mean the Power in a positive way.

Controlling a group of professionals from different countries,  Recognizing and managing without any issues is very healthy for organizations and also for the staff.

Here the controlling refers to the way of allocating the resources , shuffling the resources in different projects are extraordinary.

She has not shown any bias to any of these consultants irrespective of the nationality. She has not shown any partiality to any of us. My tenure with her was very short but very sweet.

I appreciate the way she handled the team. I have high regards for this super woman.

I learned to how to “USE THE POWER” from her.

Main reason for writing the blog started with the content about another person but most of you know about him as my Ex-Boss, we will see about him in the next content….
